BATTLE OF WHITE PLAINS

 

NOTE :  The directions depicted here are for the reenactment of the Battle of White Plains at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, and is NOT a historic landmark, battlefield or museum.

Directions :

From Philadelphia: Take I-95 North to Exit 40.  Turn right (south) on Route 413, then a left (north) on Route 13.  Follow the signs to the the the Pennsylvania Turnpike east to the New Jersey Turnpike.  Take the New Jersey Turnpike north to Exit 18.  Take Route 1 north to I-95 east and over the George Washington Bridge.  From there take I-87 (Major Deegan Expressway) north.  Transfer to the Cross County Parkway, east, then onto the Hutchinson River Parkway north.  I-684 will branch off from the HRP.  Take I-684 north.  In Katona, NY, take Exit 6 onto Route 35 heading east.  Turn right onto Route 121 south, and the entrance to the reservation will come up quickly on the left.  Turn left into the reservation and follow the signs to the reenactment.  Total driving distance from Philadelphia 141 miles and takes approximately 3 hours.
