Significant Past Events - Arrest of William Franklin / Proprietary House (2005)

     On June 19, 1776, the Royal Governor of New Jersey, William Franklin (and son of Benjamin Franklin), was taken into custody at his Governor's Mansion residence, as part of the growing movement in the colonies toward Independence.
